Our application requires two short essays:
Curiosity Statement: In honors, we love curiosity - asking questions, exploring the mysterious, striving to understand new things. What are you most curious about? Why? [400 word minimum]
Application Essay: One component of being in the Honors College is completing an independent study project called an Honors Contract. If you could design your dream project right now, what would it be? [400 word minimum]
Completing the online form is as easy as 1-2-3:
Step 1: Check to make sure your information is correct and update as needed
Step 2: Attach your two essays
Step 3: Click submit
Once submitted, your application will be routed through the approval process. Approval usually takes between 2-3 weeks. You will receive communication about acceptance via your Stout email (and your personal email if included on the application)
Application Deadlines:
Applications received by the first Monday in February will be eligible for one of fifteen $1,000 Honors Scholarships
Applications received by March 1st will be eligible to apply for the Honors Living Community and select a priority enrollment date.
All Applications should ideally be submitted by June 1st for acceptance to the Honors College and have full access to first year registration and orientation information Honors students. Rolling admissions for applications recieved later may be considered if space is available, however course schedules may be difficult to adjust to include Honors courses the later past this date applications are received.
