Dr. Sharon is an assistant professor of school counseling at UW-Stout and is also the current program director. Dr. Sharon's research interests include trauma-informed care within the school setting with a focus on the intersection of generational trauma as it relates to systemic and societal issues such as the school-to-prison pipeline. Dr. Sharon is a staunch advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community and BIPOC students.
   
Prior to coming to UW-Stout, Dr. Sharon worked for almost three decades in both private and public schools as a professional school counselor at all educational levels. Much of this experience was at the middle school level. She has extensive knowledge about suicidal ideation and non-suicidal self-injury.
   
In addition to her work at UW-Stout, Dr. Sharon also works occasionally at the Eau Claire County Jail providing mental health care to incarcerated persons.
   
In her free time, Dr. Sharon likes to bike, walk her dogs, binge-watch Netflix and Hulu, and travel (when time and finances permit). Most recently, Dr. Sharon traveled to North Carolina.
