The WI Department of Public Instruction (DPI) requires that candidates for admission to a teacher education, administration, or pupil services program successfully pass a criminal background check (CBC) as one criterion for admission. A background check must be on file in the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

To have a background check conducted, please go to the following website:

Directions on completing a background check.

There is a fee associated with the background check and will need to be paid with a credit card or prepaid credit card. As a student you can log in at your convenience to obtain a copy of your background check results.

Background checks are good for three (3) years.

Heather Klanderman at the University of Wisconsin-Stout will be able to view each student background check as an administrator for Viewpoint. Background checks are reviewed frequently.

The School of Education reserves the right to require additional background checks.
